Founded in 1972 by Chuck and Jackie Leopold, Minnieland Private Day School, Inc. is a leader in early childhood education. With over 80 locations, including childcare centers, private elementary and middle schools, and school age care sites, Minnieland serves the needs of working families in Virginia and Maryland. We strive to provide programs where each child's individuality is recognized and supported by loving and caring teachers. Our Mission
The Mission of Minnieland is to provide a quality child care program in a learning and loving environment. Our goal is to expose the child to various experiences that will develop him or her socially, emotionally and educationally.
What makes a Minnieland Center special?

The History of Minnieland
Our history began 3 decades ago during the 1970s just as the child care boom hit the U.S. With women joining the workforce in increasing numbers, the need for child care was in great demand throughout Northern Virginia area. In the early 70s, our founders, Chuck and Jackie Leopold, were the typical American couple; both were in the work force commuting everyday, while at the same time raising a family. Trying to find a safe and loving environment for their children while they worked was not too difficult, but finding those qualities combined with an educational program was impossible! It was then that they decided to open an educational child care company of their own. The first Minnieland school was located in the family's home with the school on the top floor and the family's living quarters on the bottom floor.
Minnieland remains a family owned and operated business with a mission to provide a quality child care program in a learning and loving environment. And now after 30 years of putting that mission into practice, we are even more committed to providing care to the next generation of American's children. We will continue to provide excellent educational programs where each child's individuality is recognized and supported by loving and caring teachers.
