Chuck and Jackie Leopold founded Minnieland Academy Private Day School in 1972 in their home located in Woodbridge, Virginia. Throughout the subsequent decades, Minnieland Academy continued building and acquiring new facilities in Prince William, Fredericksburg, Stafford, Loudoun, Fairfax, Harrisonburg and Northern Virginia.
Today, Minnieland Academy comprises an educational network of more than 60 licensed facilities, including early childhood educational centers, private elementary schools, a middle school, and a 
school age care site in Hugh Mercer Elementary School in Fredericksburg.
