We know that choosing an early care and education program for your child is a very important decision. The program you choose will lay the foundation of how your child grows, interacts and learns. It is our top priority to ensure that our centers meet the highest standards of quality childcare, that’s why Minnieland is 100% committed to the accreditation process.
Minnieland Academy schools are accredited through the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) Commission, AdvancED, NAEYC or NAC. All are independent and nationally recognized programs that have been supporting educational programs that strive for excellence. The accreditation process evaluates each school on the following criteria:
Star Quality Initiative
Several Minnieland Academies in Virginia have been chosen to participate in Virginia's Star Quality Improvement System, a method to assess, improve and communicate the level of quality in early care and education settings that families consider for their children. The program was created to provide a consistent way to distinguish the level of quality in early education programs, allowing parents to make more informed choices.
Each Minnieland Academy is rated on a five-star scale of increasing quality. The four standards in the Star Quality Initiative are: education, qualifications and training of staff, interactions between children and their teachers and peers, staff to child ratios and group size, and program environment and instructional practices. These standards have been selected as a result of a thorough review of research and best practices. STAR rated Minnieland Academies are Technology and Wellington. Pursuing STAR rating are Gainesville, Bristow, Harrisonburg and England Run.
