Minnieland Academy, Courthouse granted full accreditation by NAEYC

Minnieland Academy @ Courthouse was recently granted accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

In the 30 years since NAEYC Accreditation was established, it has become a widely recognized sign of high-quality early childhood education. More than 7,000 programs are currently accredited by NAEYC—less than ten percent of all child care centers, preschools, and kindergartens nationally achieve this recognition.

By earning a NAEYC accreditation, early education programs demonstrate their commitment to their communities, collaborative relationships with families, and finding ways to continuously improve the quality of their programs.

“We’re proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC, and to be recognized for our commitment to children, families, and the community.” Amanda Short, Director of Minnieland Academy at Courthouse said.   “Through the NAEYC self-study, we learned how to foster understanding and acceptance through interactions, activities and materials.  Every day, our children discover how they are similar and different from each other and the rest of the world.  I am so very proud of the staff; the hard work they do daily and am happy the families know they are receiving such high quality care. ”

During the accreditation process all areas of the school’s program are examined including administration, staff development and the working environment, the developmental program, outdoor and indoor environments, health and safety as well as parent and community relations.
