Minnieland Academy supports Military families.  April is the Month of the Military Child, underscoring the important role military children play in the armed forces community.     Minnieland Academy at Cloverdale, welcomed a very special visitor today, US Army LTG Leslie C. “Les” Smith to help celebrate our military children.

LTG Smith read the story Elmer and the Tune to the children and then presented Certificates of Appreciation from the Virginia Department of Education to those with parents in the military, recognizing their contributions and service as a military-connected child.    The children participated in an obstacle course set up on their soccer field.

Center Director Tracey Hebert said, “We sincerely appreciate the time LTG Smith spent at our school today during the Month of the Military Child, enriching the lives of our children.  His commitment to our community is always a highlight for us.”
