Dr. Rosemary Burton,Vice President of Accreditation and Industry Relations said, “It is indeed an honor to achieve these prestigious accreditation awards. It places all three programs in good company with some of the best quality programs in the country. The teachers at North Stafford, Stone Ridge and Gunston Plaza worked very hard to create portfolios that showcase the excellent teaching and learning that takes place in their classrooms and are to be commended for their dedication to their craft.”
During the accreditation process all areas of the school’s program are examinedincluding administration, staff development and the working environment, the developmental program, outdoor and indoor environments, health and safety as well as parent and community relations.
“The heart of NAC accreditation focuses on the quality care the children experience,” Catherine Taylor, Director of Minnieland Academy @ North Stafford said. “The process carefully considers all aspects of a program including health and safety, teacher qualifications, longevity, and physical environment. The greatest emphasis is on the children’s relationships with the teachers and how the program helps each child grow and learn intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.”
